Now other posters are talking about restrictions on legally issued tourist visas. Fortuneatly I am not affected, but have a lot of sympathy for many of those who are. I appreciate the desire to rid their country of undesireables but it appears they are going WAY too far. If the authorities are as good as their word, the nightlife scene will be decimated. Bye bye bar owners. Bye bye party people who want to unwind in Thailand. Is there something else going on behind the scenes? Come on, these new regulations look like a financial suicide note. I am sure there will be plenty of watering holes. Not sure how to look at it from an economic perspective, but what is the amount of revenue bought into the country by long term border runners, and how much by ral tourists.
