One organisation that has recently benefited from advertising with Thaivisa is Pacific Cross Health Insurance.

Tom Thomson of Pacific Cross Health Insurance, explains how the cost effective marketing packages from Thaivisa have resulted in an increase in lead generation and overall sales for his company.

The brand and business of Pacific Cross Health Insurance was launched in October 2014 following the acquisition and restructuring of a small registered Thai health and travel insurer Borirak. The Pacific Cross Group was no stranger to the Thailand insurance scene, having for the previous nine years administered health and travel insurance in partnership with LMG Insurance, as LMG Pacific Healthcare. The Group was originally responsible for establishing Blue Cross Thailand in the 1980’s, which was subsequently sold to BUPA in the late 1990’s.

Specialising in just health, travel and personal accident insurance and specialising in this category across the region, Pacific Cross has by nature a more modest revenue base than multi-line life and general insurers and understandably this translates into the company’s marketing budget meaning every baht spent on marketing needs to work hard – and this was even more the case when the task was to establish a new brand in the health insurance space while at the same time generating sales enquiries to the company’s direct sales team as well as the insurance broker community who represent Pacific Cross products.

The expat market represents an important part of the health and travel insurance market for Pacific Cross and in investigating the most cost effective ways of reaching this market and being able to
establish both the brand’s presence as well as building credibility, ThaiVisa.com was one of the obvious channels to investigate.

After making initial contact I was impressed with the speed and content of the response which laid out a number of possible ways Pacific Cross could partner with ThaiVisa … the suggestions were creative, well thought out, and also realistic in terms of our limited budget (and ambitious expectations).

One of the options was to become a co-sponsor of the Insurance Forum, which is the option we took up, with a very clear view that this would not be successful as a passive initiative and we would need
to take a very active approach.

ThaiVisa provided some valuable advice in how to make the most of the opportunity (on an ongoing basis) and that helped us to establish a tone that was professional and helpful, and a level of activity that has seen us check the forum most days; actively comment with carefully researched posts several times a week on average, and contribute a new article on a relevant topic on average twice each month.

We’ve been careful to maintain consistent branding and in a low key but quite clear way make sure we have a clear call to action on each post inviting the reader to obtain a no obligation quote with a link back to our website, or other relevant information.

It’s taken a reasonable investment of time and effort from our end and this really can’t be delegated
outside a small group of senior people, but we knew this would be the case.

I suppose you want to know if it’s been worthwhile or not.

Well, we have just agreed to continue for another six months. There was no question or debate in making that decision.

From the outset of our involvement and throughout the period we have tracked a steady source of sales leads at a very reasonable cost per lead.

Our analysis of the closure rate from these leads has shown them to convert at a significantly higher rate than any other lead generation source with the result that the cost per sale is very pleasing, and justifies the level of management time and involvement.
