CHONBURI: -- A 70-year-old grandma revealed her secret identity as a superwoman with the power of Tai Chi when she caught a thief who stole money from a coffee shop in Chonburi.

Nipa Ratsopon was practicing Tai Chi at a park in front of Chonburi Provincial Court Wednesday when the coffee shop owner, Thanyaporn Sudsawat, 52, yelled out for help after a customer stole her purse.

Grandma Nipa promptly ran after the thief and busted out some Tai Chi moves to prevent her from escaping.

Things happened real fast, and the two women were able to hand over the thief, identified as 36-year-old Wanida Nakklai, to the police.

That will teach ya! Don't mess with Grandma!

Post with overly large colour type removed

This is simply unacceptable.

We don't want pics of slightly bemused looking old ladies.

Where's the guilty looking alleged perps with all the pointing?

This country is going to the dogs.

isn't wanida a girls name?

It says so in the OP.

WTG granny ! I wish everyone would come running when people ask for help !

Bravo!clap2.gifclap2.gifclap2.gif

Finally a display of civil courage. We need more people like grandma in this country and fewer "bystanders" guffawing without stepping in when someone is being beaten to a pulp or being robbed in their immediate vicinity.

My respectful congratulations to grandma - or should that be "Hitgirl"?

Time for a logo change. Carter's a grandparent, too.

Always fun when a piece of crap thief gets caught. Even more fun when they are caught by Grammy Goliath. Hope the cockroach thief gets to spend some time in jail. Too many are taking the low road, and looking for shortcuts these days. There are alot of honest Thais who work very hard, and they do not deserve to be preyed upon. Thank you grammy. You are a hero. Keep up the Tai Chi!

Salute to grandma. Courage and will power to take positive action .

grandma is relative in this country, our 40 year old maid just became a grandma herself ... and 2 weeks later after the birth of her grandson, she popped out one herself, so now the two babies can call each other uncle & nephew with a few days difference

Love it you go Granny Go!
