Jingthing
Baby boomers can read but EMOTIONS play a big part in political choices. I think most Americans will feel safe with a President Hillary compared to any of the likely republican choices. I think the big threat on their side is Rubio. He is going to grow as he gets older and he would be the "exciting" choice. He's a right winger, but he's likable and has an inspiring personal story. That would appeal to the small percentage of Americans who won't automatically vote for any democrat or any republican. Also of course Florida would be in the bag. Actually it's going to be an entitlement-driven vote - everything from the financial to citizenship for foreign nationals, isn't it? So how much is Rubio going to grow in 17 months? An inch or two or three? Seriously, how much nanny-state entitlements is he willing to commit to? Edited June 14, 2015 by MaxYakov

Hillary is there to fill that need. Don't underestimate her chances, and yes, she is as good as nominated. I'm not thrilled with her either, but I'm sure she'll be better than any republican. She knows she's not thrilling. She doesn't need to be to win. Edited June 14, 2015 by Jingthing

We should be aware that seventeen more months of this Obama economy might tip the vote into "keep feeding me and give me citizenship or at least amnesty" territory. And don't tell us illegals don't vote. Seriously, how much/many nanny-state entitlements is Rubio willing to commit to (vacantly promise)? Is it going to be a maker vs taker election? Don't people vote with their pocketbooks? You betcha! Too many Americans and voting illegals are beyond the point where principles and the future of America are even considered. It's a get mine now and everyone and everything else be damned mentality. Edited June 14, 2015 by MaxYakov
Loptr
The mention of Clinton on TV and the teabaggers go into a frenzy. Better get use to it, boys. Meanwhile back at the ranch, Mitt Romney is planning on saving the world by maneuvering to accept the nomination at the GOP convention. He doesn't realize we haven't forgotten the "47%" speech, a classic. Ann will have her 1st Lady title, one way or the other. Lindsey Graham is talking blasphemy, saying the GOP needs to open itself to the young, women, minorities, etc. Good luck with that, Blanche DuBois. There is blood in the water and with 17+ candidates...they have to go at each other. The most right wing will get the nod from the delusional base. And then it's over. Anyone that has done one iota of research into the Clinton family, and for the Bush family as well, know that both are the worst of the worst criminals in American political history... To state that mentioning Hillary "drives the tea baggers crazy" only shows your own ignorance on the topic... Perhaps you can do something that no one else has been able to do, including the Clinton campaign, which is to name a single accomplishment Hillary has made during her tenure in political office, with the exception of racking up free flyer miles... A quick Google search will enlighten you: Even though her major initiative, the Clinton healthcare plan, failed (due to Republican obstruction), you cannot deny that it laid ground for what we have today, the Affordable Healthcare Act, something Clinton supports and would continue. She played a leading role in the development of State Children’s Health Insurance Program, which provides the much-needed state support for children whose parents cannot afford nor provide them with adequate healthcare coverage. She was also instrumental in the creation of the Adoption and Safe Families Act and the Foster Care Independence Act. Successfully fought to increase research funding for prostate cancer and asthma at the National Institute of Health (NIH). She spearheaded investigations into mental illness plaguing veterans of the Gulf War; we now have a term for it – Gulf War Syndrome. At the Department of Justice, she helped create the office on Violence Against Women. She was instrumental in securing over $21 billion in funding for the World Trade Center redevelopment. Took a leading role in the investigation of health consequences of first responders and drafted the first bill to compensate and offer the health services our first responders deserve (Clinton’s successor in the Senate, Kirsten Gillibrand, passed the bill). Was instrumental in working out a bi-partisan compromise to address civil liberty abuses for the renewal of the U.S. Patriot Act. Proposed a revival of the New Deal-era Home Owners’ Loan Corporation to help homeowners refinance their mortgages in the wake of the 2008 financial disaster. Was a major proponent of sensible diplomacy which brought about a ceasefire between Hamas and Israel, and brokered human rights with Burma. Oversaw free trade agreements with our allies such as Panama, Colombia, and South Korea. Was the most traveled Secretary of State to date. The Clinton Foundation, founded by her and her husband, has improved the living conditions for nearly 400 million people in over 180 countries through its Initiative program. These are not all of her accomplishments. Her activism on behalf of women a children across the world is renowned. Her activism for raising the minimum wage and combating climate change is stellar. You do not have to support what she does or stands for. But do not say she doesn’t have any accomplishments. The conservatives who say this are the ones who are pushing for Ted Cruz – who brought on a $24 billion shut down. That, to them, is an accomplishment? Lissos
Observing as a Brit, it all seems a bit Dynastic. The House of Kennedy, The House of Bush, The House of Clinton. chuckd
Interestingly, Roosevelt Island in NYC, where Hillary held her second coming party, has a fake forest, an abandoned insane asylum now a high rise and a closed smallpox hospital. I guess her "H" signs are for the two closed medical facilities. They also refused to permit any hint of a protest by forcing potential trouble makers to either leave or turn their T-shirts inside out. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Republicans Forced to Turn Shirts Inside Out at Clinton Launch 1:12 PM, JUN 13, 2015 • BY DANIEL HALPER Three Republican National Committee staffers were forced to turn their t-shirts inside out at Hillary Clinton's official campaign kick-off event today on Roosevelt Island. The offending t-shirts featured a stop sign with the words "Stop Hillary." The Republicans held general admission tickets to the event. They walked through the security zone to get into the event without a problem. But as they proceeded toward the stage, A green-shirted campaign aide trailed them. "Read their shirts, you can't let them in," a campaign staffer said. More here: http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/republicans-forced-turn-shirts-inside-out-clinton-launch_970505.html Yep. chuckd
We are nearly finished with a President that hid everything personal about his former life. Since Hillary is an open book as far as her scandals go, the only thing we really don't know is her current health condition considering the head injury she sustained a couple of years ago. Guess what??? -------------------------------------------------------------------- Clinton Campaign Won’t Commit to Releasing Hillary Medical Records by Breitbart News15 Jun 20152836 On Sunday, Hillary Clinton’s campaign manager would not commit to releasing her health records during the 2016 campaign. Face the Nation host John Dickerson pointed out that “Hillary Clinton had a big health scare when she was secretary of state” and asked campaign manager Robby Mook, “will she release her medial records as part of this campaign?” “I will let Hillary decide that,” Mook answered. “But I can tell you she has been hitting the campaign trail hard.” In 2012, Clinton had to delay her Benghazi testimony to Congress after she fell and suffered a concussion. http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2015/06/15/clinton-campaign-wont-commit-to-releasing-hillary-medical-record
chuckd
Let's all keep abreast of Hill's campaign for President. Here is the latest today: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- In Bernie Sanders, an unlikely — but real — threat to Hillary Clinton By John Wagner and Anne Gearan June 28 at 9:48 PM ROCHESTER, N.H. — At the first glimpse of the rumpled 73-year-old senator from Vermont, the standing-room-only crowd at a historic inn here Sunday morning erupted — leaping up, waving signs and breaking into chants of “Bernie, Bernie, Bernie!” The scene has become a familiar one as Bernie Sanders makes a most unexpected surge in his bid for the Democratic presidential nomination. Sanders — a self-described democratic socialist — has seen his crowds swell and is gaining ground in the polls on the formidable Democratic front-runner, Hillary Rodham Clinton. In New Hampshire, where Sanders was on yet another weekend swing, one survey last week showed him within 8 percentage points of Clinton. http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/in-bernie-sanders-an-unlikely--but-real--threat-to-hillary-clinton/2015/06/28/feb64a74-1daf-11e5-84d5-eb37ee8eaa61_story.html ------------------------------------------------------------------------- You Hillaryites might want to keep that champaign on ice. The inauguration might be on hold.
