Yu'p your quite correct, Now that being said Qantas is ranked seventh and out of the top ten listed and have been operating the longest, And NEVER CRASHED,

they are ranked seventh due to some incidents as opposed to any fatal crashes.

Seems you are accepting the QANTAS PR team's definition of a crash. The $50 million incident at BKK, admittedly caused by cost cutting instructions not to use reverse thrust, is close enough for me.

As an old friend of mine always says..it depends how you do your measuring.

As a passenger Thai,Qantas,BA and Thai are airlines to avoid along with Malaysia and KLM. Old cabin crew, terrible service plus high fares.

In brief the old flag carriers have had their day. We have the internet,no longer are at the mercy of agents pushing these airlines in return for 10% of that high fare and can use various sites such as Skytrax to get feedback for the journeys and airlines.

The sort of PR speak Thai are trying to feed us is rubbish.
