atm single action max withdrawal

Featured Replies

bangkok bank was 25000 bht now 10000, plus atm fee increase . they blame debit card issurere , anyone else had this in past couple weeks?

Believe you must be talking about foreign cards (as there is no fee for local) and always had limits on those (either set by origin bank or card if no contact with bank - but have not used for decades so do no remember what they were). Believe fee increased from 150 to 180 baht from other reading.

AFAIK still can withdraw up to 25k if 1k bills are available when using local card - but have not done so since 12 June.

you can still withdraw 25k on a foreign card as well, and its been THB 180 fee for a while now

the problem is most certainly with the OP's own bank putting the limit on the card not BKK bank

Chances are that particular ATM ran out of 1,000 baht notes.

Bangkok Bank ATMs provide a max of Bt25K per withdrawal "if", repeat, if your home country card-issuing bank allows that much.

The Bangkok Bank foreign card fee is Bt180 for Visa/Mastercard....approaching a year ago it was Bt150 like other Thai banks but then all Thai banks raised it to Bt180. However, AEON still only charges Bt150 but you are limited to Bt20K per withdrawal. It varies among Thai banks as to the max allowed per withdrawal....the most is Bt30K like at Krungsri and TMB ATMs.

If an ATM is running low on cash it will reduce max withdrawal "for everyone"...usually down to around 10-15K.

And always remember, the Bt150-Bt180 talked above is the Thai ATM foreign card fee...if your card-issuing bank applies a foreign transaction fee (1 to 3% is common) then that fee will be hitting your account also...don't blame the Thai bank for that fee as that is a card-issuing bank fee.
