The family of a girl who was raped by a police officer in Preah Sihanouk province five years ago is calling on the court to imprison the perpetrator, who is still a free man despite having been convicted of the crime in April.

Father Yong Bunly, 52, said he and the rapist, immigration police officer Kang Sophat, 52, had been friends, and that Sophat had even taken care of his daughter since she was 3 years old.

In 2010, however, he found out Sophat had raped his daughter, who was 11 at the time, and immediately filed a complaint to the court.

I would be nice to see a strong reaction to this situation.

I envisage something involving rusty shears.

But the truth will more likey be rusty metal in the form of some kind of commendation from the Cambodian authorities for evading capture even after conviction.

....get the sick !@#$%^&*(.....

...put him in prison.......put him on the receiving end...see how he likes it...

The only justice this father will get is if he takes matters into his own hands. Sad but true.

Then watch how quickly the wheels of "justice" will spin putting him behind bars.

Hun Sen is one of the most corrupt, and dirty politicians on the planet. His personal security detail consists of over 5,000 men. That tells you how many want him dead. Sounds like this cop either had some connections, or paid off the right judge. SE Asian style!

So the police officers in Cambodia are s-bags like here ...

Sad consideration. Try another country

That is no big shock no more, it happens so many times in many Asian countries even in Thailand, as bad as it is he will probably never see a prison cell.
