We have a 9 month old precious baby. A few people have commented that shes a 'chubby bubby'. Im not involved much with the feeding of solids but we are feeding her 3 times a day (3 tablespoons each time). The solids in the middle of the day consist of puree fruit. At nighttime and breakfast time its always some sort of protein and vege (different things each time).

The other day I prepared her nighttime meal and measured out 3 tablespoons. The mother in law and our nanny said it was not enough. Mind you they are not so perfect... the other day I walked into the lounge room and they were both sitting with my baby. I walked over and asked 'what is that in her hand'. They had given her a salty round cheese biscuit that probably contains palm oil and other goodies. The 'wife' was none too happy about that.

I think that her weight looks more or less normal. The Dr said that he weight is normal on the chart etc. He did kind of say that her legs were a bit big but this will wear off when she starts walking.

I believe that we have to ignore people's comments and proceed with feeding her breast milk and wholesome solids as described above.

Its my first baby and thus I would appreciate any opinions if you're experienced in this area. By the way, my wife and I are slim...

many thanks

MIL was right!

Feed then until they stop wanting more.

That's the way I always did it.

What about milk powder?

I fed mine as much as they wanted until they stopped wanting it, about age 3.

That's the age they start getting skinny.

Yep, babies are often fat until they start walking/running around.

Better buy real milk at 7/11 ; 51 baht for packet of 4
