Put on fake, child-like voices through-out normal everyday interactions?

Basic defense-mechanism to help them deal with their horrid, hopeless lives, helped on by a emotionally restrictive culture that abhors any sort of aggression or serious social interaction. Play and act like happy little children is better than dealing with their reality.

Until they finally explode with a life's worth of repressed negative emotions.

Do you know the Thai saying 'When the smiles disappear, the knives aren't far away'.

Instead of dealing with life normally, they will pretend to be like happy little children until one day they cannot take it anymore, then the closest weapon at hand may well be brought into play, so to speak.

Thai sociology and psychology is absolutely fascinating to observe.
