PWA: Low water level at Mabprachan doesn’t mean water shortage for Pattaya

PATTAYA:--Despite the low level and discoloration of water in the Mabprachan Reservoir, Pattaya is not facing a water shortage, as the city has numerous other resources, the Provincial Waterworks Authority said.

Lake Mabprachan only plays a small part in the Pattaya area’s overall water-resources plan, with most raw water coming from four other sources, said Sutat Nutchpala, a PWA manager. So while residents may be worried at seeing the reservoir lower than reported levels, water officials are not concerned.

The PWA is drawing on the Chak Nok, Klang Dong, Huay Sapan and Khunjit reservoirs for raw water.
