Prayut did very well stopping the terrorism in Bangkok without using any form of violence and I hope he can do the same in the South.

Perhaps you missed the newsflash.

How long has the South been going on ? That's right, before the days of Prayut being PM.

RIP to the poor victim and a speedy recovery to the survivors.

He's had quite a few years as the big chief in the army and now the PM and had no impact.

Not to be attributed to Prayut, statistically deaths from the South's separatist movement have decreased since the coup. Hate to spoil your day with facts.

Don't know if you have seen this happened in 2011 Narrathiwat the police officer survived after the bomb went off by his bomb suit https://youtu.be/H-M1tn5cp7Q I really don't get these people killing innocent people but I guess what the army is doing is working as hard targets are harder to hit so they are desperate in going for soft targets instead.

As the fearless freedom fighters of the Liberation Front seem remarkably shy of going anywhere near those able to respond, and confining their heroic attacks to light poles, water pipes and innocent people shopping, do you really think he has problems with his sphincter?

Not sure if there were two or more events, over Friday evening and into this morning, but there are quite a few international news reports indicating significant deaths today...

6 killed, 11 injured in Thailand's restive south
BANGKOK (Kyodo) -- A total of six people were killed and 11 others injured in explosions and an arson attack from Friday night to Saturday morning in three provinces of southern Thailand, local media reported.
Although details are unclear, authorities said the incidents could be terror attacks by Muslim militants fighting for independence.
A motorcycle bomb exploded outside a karaoke bar in Songkhla Province, killing three people, according to the reports. In addition, three people died in a fire at an automotive parts store near a market in Narathiwat Province.
Besides explosions at a total of eight locations in three provinces also including Yala Province, there was also an incident in which firecrackers were thrown into a restaurant, according to the reports.
Since the insurgency broke out in 2004, nearly 6,000 people have been killed in the southernmost provinces of Pattani, Yala and Narathiwat, and four districts of Songkhla Province.
Thai south shaken by bombings and arson
Series of bombings and fires kill 6 people, injures 11 in Thailand’s insurgency-plagued south.
BANGKOK – A series of bombings and fires killed six people and injured 11 others in Thailand’s insurgency-plagued south overnight.
Local police – who spoke on condition of anonymity – told Anadolu Agency that one explosion in a city on the border with Malaysia had killed three people inside a shop and injured three others.
The incident happened after “two teenagers parked a motorbike in front of a Karaoke bar at 8.30 pm on Friday in Sungai Kolok,” one officer added.
Early Saturday, fires were started at three different locations in the city, leaving three people – including an elderly man – dead when a blaze gutted a shop in the city centre.
Earlier Friday, small bombs were thrown into two restaurants in the city, but the blasts failed to cause any injuries.
Meanwhile, a bomb planted on a motorbike exploded in front of the Top Asia hotel, injuring eight people and causing heavy damage to surrounding vehicles.
This wave of violence occurred as “secret negotiations” between the Thai junta and insurgent groups appear to be making little progress.
