Do I need a tourist visa?

Featured Replies

I'm travelling to Bangkok, with a return flight 33 days later from Bangkok, however I will not be staying in Thailand for those 33 days, I'm travelling around Cambodia and Vietnam meaning I'll only be in Thailand for no more than 2 weeks. Will I need to get a tourist visa, or will the visa exemption reset when I leave the country?

Travelling to Bangkok from where ?

Nationality is important !

From the UK, I'm British :)

Do you have proof of onward travel from BKK eg an outward flight as opposed to crossing by land, this is the biggest issue.

No proof of onward travel as of yet... But would that solve the problem, meaning I would not have to get a tourist visa?

If you intend to travel from the UK without a visa, be aware that airlines may deny you boarding unless in possession of an outbound flight from Thailand within 30 days of arrival.

If you would have proof of onward travel, you will have no problem and don't need a tourist visa.

(Without a visa, the airline might want to see proof of onward travel within 30 days or deny you travel).

If you have some idea of an itinerary book a cheap flight from Don Muang BKK to Cambodia PP for two weeks after your arrival this will irradicate any issues leaving the UK with the 30 day rule then make your way round Cambodia and Vnam as you choose returning to BKK for your return flight.

Just an idea, flights cost as little as GBP 28 one way bargain.
