Somebody attempted to pull a 419 Nigerian scam on me!

Recommended Posts

They sure are getting more cunning and exploring many channels to find a sucker.

In a nutshell:

He pretended he was interested to rent a house, then suddenly told he was interested to buy lots of properties. The problem is that in Thailand, foreigners aren't allowed to own land, which I told him. He then started telling me he is an Afghan UN soldier and he has 19.4 million $ in cash from opium money and needed somebody who he can trust to send this cash in 2 boxes to me for safekeeping and he will split 20% to me.

Yeah right...

I was contemplating to email him and see the rest of the game, but decided against the hassle. In that case I would have to create a new email account just for this and I couldn't be bothered.

Go on....string him along & see what happens.

The 419 site is sooo funny.

Maybe get him to prove his ID, holding up a sign saying: "I love katoeys". Explain to him that they are a free service for brave soldiers such as him!
