I'm sure it's a simple answer, but something I'm not sure of. Is there a difference between a vpn and a proxy, or are they basically the same thing?

Reason for asking, is that I've just received another notice from a big American company regarding a download I made a while back. Guess their spy company is monitoring a lot of internet traffic.

I know there's little to be concerned about as it takes so much to actually do something against one file download, but I'd rather avoid the annoyance.

P.S. Not in Thailand right now, so that's not the problem.

I also thought that perhaps I could set up a seed box which would mean another stop for files. Any ideas if this would hinder the tracing?

Okay, I somehow forgot the fundamental about my friend. Yup, I googled and learned the difference.

Now I'd like to learn how to set up a proxy for uTorrent for Mac, so I guess I'll head over to that forum.
