If I go to Vientiene for Non O based on being 50 years old do I need letter from American Embasy for finical proof ?

Embasy coming to Khon Kein tomorrow. Hate to travel to BKK if can be avoided.

How long would letter be good for ?

You need proof of income to get the non-o in Vientiane. The income affidavit would be enough.

Immigration will accept an affidavit that is up to 6 months old. Not sure what the embassy would accept. But I believe a month or two old one would be accepted.

Are you asking if getting the income letter and the place extending your tourist visa are at the same place?

No, they are not.

The outreach visit by US Embassy staff will be at a hotel. You extend visas at the immigration office.
