Social Security Payment For September Late ?

Featured Replies

On about July 1 of this year for the first time my yearly I AM NOT DEAD form arrive on time. Mailed fast mail from Thailand Post Office to the main office in America and to the Manila office. By September 3rd I have my money deposited into my Wells Fargo account. Often about 48 hours before deposit I get a pending notice. As of 4pm 9/3/26 still no pending notice.

Should I worry or is payment tomorrow ? If my deposit was stopped any advise to getting it back?

It really behoves new retirees to set up SS retirement inside the US and avoid all this unnecessary Manilla calling. Also eliminates the yearly death letter.

  • Is it that hard to mail a letter or make a phone call once a year. DD into my BBL account is way to easy from SS. Credit advises for Imm at the ready. Can't imagine it being any simplier. Along with

Geez, it's only the 3rd. It has arrived as late as the 6th.

Your payment wouldn't be suspended till after the New Year, as they send out the 2nd notice, Oct/Nov. If that's not received, then payment is stopped.

EDIT: received BBL 3 Sept 11:08

Only 3 months this year, was it received on the 3rd

So do not expect anything until at least tomorrow? Is Manila still our main office from here ? Not sure why I have nothing pending yet.

US Bank account got Sep payment on the 2nd. Mailed form 7612 from CNX on July 9 and SSA did not get it until August 14th. Doubt SSA has had enough time to even process the majority of the 7162's that it has received worldwide.

Mine was processed and updated in the system when I phoned them... 1 hour of my time. No mailing. No guessing where it is. No guessing if it's been processed. No worries. Just phone them and do the simple procedure.

Along with less hassle and cheaper (1000 THB saved) than income letters from embassy the past 6 or 7 years.

Mind boggling how the 7162 stresses people out 🤣

You do you. I wouldn't know how hard a phone call would be as I only make calls to family and friends in the USA. My money was deposited into BB until they took away my ATM card and started with the stupid credit advice deal. I started using an agent last extension and love the ease.

No stress here.

I reckon Trump might have used your money to buy some more ammo for the war.

Abdulflake, Omarflake, Hammoud lake and Zoflake decided they needed it more than you did.

Now you're just embarrassing yourself with an idiotic post.

I received my deposit yesterday (Friday Sep 4). Bangkok Bank.

What is most interesting is that I have not received a 7162 in two years.

They never updated my address from the 7162 I submitted two years ago.

I wonder if they are now considering logins to the SSA account as "still alive".

Same here with my TH address, extensions have never been easier with DD into BBL

Does BB allow you an ATM card for that SS DD account and how about online banking?

I don't think so, though I wouldn't pay for access to my money anyway. Just go there every 3rd month and make a withdrawal. Nothing too complicated, even for an idiot.

I don't do online banking, cash is king, no scams with cash.

If I had it DD in USA bank, then transferred to Thai bank, I'd have to do the exact same thing, so I skip one process, and with the BBL 'credit advises', extending is way too easy, never a banking oops.

Why complicate things with extra steps.

How to say you've never been to Manila without saying you've never been to Manila.

Google Manila

So, no to BB letting you have an ATM and also no to online banking.

I don't believe you're allowed to alter my posts, as I don't deal with Manila at all, for 7162 processing, why would I do that.

When I did deal with SS via Manila for DD set up at BBL, they were excellent, prompt & efficient.

The hate is strong with you guys. Use common sense next time, and you want get hurt so bad.

Manila, first choice ??? Again steps that are unnecessary. No wonder y'all have a problem functioning, and Manila gets backlogged. Y'all cause your own problems.

Don't know, don't care. Why ask me about something I have no interest in ???

What next, ask me, or tell me how hard to get a cruise ship to Singapore, from PKK, so why not live in BKK ?

5555, See you go off on a tangent. Sorry if you're having a rough day.

I can handle booking a cruise, 5555.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but is it not possible to have one's SS benefits directly deposited to a Thai Bank other than Bangkok Bank?

https://secure.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0202402419#b

I decided to put my Gemini Pro to work on the problem, given the above instructions. Here's what it said:

Based on the Social Security Administration (SSA) instructions you provided, direct deposits are not actually limited to Bangkok Bank.

The policy explicitly states that benefits can be deposited into local financial institutions (FIs) in Thailand, though there are strict requirements on how those payments must be structured and routed.

According to the manual, here are the actual limitations and how the system works:

  • Currency Requirement: Payments sent to Thailand must be deposited into a Thai Baht (THB) account. The system will not process International Direct Deposits (IDD) to U.S. Dollar accounts in Thailand.

  • Address Requirement: The beneficiary must have a foreign address listed on their Master Beneficiary Record (MBR). If the address is domestic, the system rejects the IDD information.

  • The "Processor Bank" System: The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City (FRBKC) does not send money directly to every individual bank in Thailand. Instead, they route the funds to a single designated "processor bank" in Thailand (identified in the policy by the routing prefix "73").

  • Final Routing: Once the funds reach that central processing institution, they are then routed onward to the beneficiary's chosen local FI.

While Bangkok Bank is widely known to act as the primary processor bank for U.S. government deposits in Thailand (and many expats choose to open accounts there for simplicity), the official SSA policy allows the final destination account to be at other local Thai banks, provided the required routing information and SWIFT-BIC codes are submitted.

The only caveat in my mind would be Murphy's Law. If something can go wrong, it will. In other words, anyone actually depending on the regular receipt of these benefits should probably think twice before assuming the deposits will be made without a hitch.

6 years and BBL hasn't made one oops yet. Usually arrives like clockwork on the 3rd sometimes the 4th 5th or even 6th, but arrives consistently.

Never an issue and they seem to be user error by farang when mentioned.

Apologies, I didn't think you were such a delicate flower. Just don't respond to an online question which by the way was legit.

And if you do have an answer, leave out the long drawn out boring come backs. Many times a question only requires a yes or a no, not a family history.

You're welcome......

If it all works for you, then no problem. I have a US address on file, so I can't do any of this myself. The only benefit might be for someone already receiving direct payments in Thailand and with an address in Thailand who doesn't want all the nonsense of having to withdraw the payments in person. For example, someone with an account at Kaisikorn bank might want to just have the money show up in their account to use however they want.
