July 21, 201511 yr Depends where you gonna stay and if your wife prefers contact/social work for the Jewish community. I assume Israeli expats have a broad social network over here. To start, (my advise) perhaps the Chabad House in BKK where they can provide practical info for her and you. They will be able to answer (most) of your questions... Good luck ! http://www.jewishthailand.com/templates/articlecco_cdo/aid/176386/jewish/Ohr-Menachem-Chabad-House.htm http://www.chabad.org/centers/default_cdo/aid/118405/jewish/Chabad-of-Bangkok-Ohr-Menachem.htm Edited July 21, 201511 yr by Thorgal

July 21, 201511 yr Please remember that any work, requires a work permit, even volunteer work. Yep, I think the attitude is: "Never let a Good Deed go Un-punished." You'd think they'd appreciate volunteers.

July 22, 201511 yr Is she wanting to volunteer only as a kindergarten thatcher? I think she's going to be wasting her time looking for roofing work in Thailand, voluntary or not it's a restricted profession.

August 4, 201511 yr You can get a work permit to do volunteer work, BUT it must be with a registered foundation/NGO and they have to submit a ton of documents to City Hall and Immigration. I was there for three years on a volunteer work permit.
