bangkokowl
Hi all Came out to Thailand last year from the UK, and I'm running out of socks! I'm a size 11 UK (45.5 European) and I've heard that men with big feet can have problems finding socks/shoes. I'm not looking for anything special, I usually wear sports socks, but DO NOT want anything ankle length. I was buying them for about £3.00 (150 baht) for 5 pairs back home! Any ideas? BigBadGeordie
Don't know where you can get these items, but suggest you apprach one of the gentlemen wearing a beer logo singlet in any bar, most of them seem to prefer the sock and sandle look. Hope this helps?
impulse
What part of Thailand? Here in BKK, I can buy socks about every 50 meters on most major streets. Then it's just a matter of picking the ones that fit. In the boondocks, any advice I'd give you would be useless. Sviss Geez had some good advice: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/781815-socks-yes-socks

xen
The even harder part is finding socks that are not 100% nylon unless you pay top price in a menswear store.

Sviss Geez had some good advice: http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/781815-socks-yes-socks Unfortunately that recommendation doesn't stand now. I was in there last week for size 11 (not stretch 8-11 which do not fit as they are at the limit of the stretch and you find the heel under your foot) and they are no longer stocked. I think they were labelled Carson Gold as opposed to simply Carson. I'd be grateful to know if anyone finds any anywhere also.
bangkokowl
Thanks for the help. Will go have a look around later today. Started on 10 pairs of socks when I flew out last October, and now down to 6! People thought I was mad bringing 4 pairs of footwear out here, which hasn't turned out to be the worst decision! Sviss Geez
Any Tesco Lotus. I bought socks in that size range for years. Tesco does not stock sized socks, never has, all theirs are free-size stretch which are no good if your foot size is at the limit of the stretch. Sviss Geez
Marks and Sparks, but expensive. Are you sure that M&S in Thailand stock large (not stretch) men's socks? I'm not so sure but would be delighted if you could confirm that I am wrong as I'm in desperate need of some size 11s.

I wouldn't know, I am not a sock specialist and never intend to be, but my feet are the same size as the OP's and as he wants some: I'm not looking for anything special, I usually wear sports socks just as I have been buying from Tesco for a decade. Phaeton
Thaniya plaza? Part of it is all golfing stuff. And there are many booths in that golfing section that sell socks. Just bought six pairs. I'm a size 9, but I think they should have larger.

"Any Tesco Lotus. I bought socks in that size range for years." Then you say, "I wouldn't know...". Kind of contradictory. "just as I have been buying from Tesco for a decade." But what you haven't been buying for a decade from Tesco are size 11 socks which is what the OP wants, you've been buying one-size stretch.
