Curfew Information

Featured Replies

Please post authoritative, published or broadcast curfew information here as it becomes available.

TV Moderators, please consider a "News Clippings" thread on this topic if appropriate.

Well my missus says I have to be back before midnight, but usually I can stay out later.

There has been nothing about any curfew and tomorrow is a normal workday.

I was told a curfew by someone on here. 10pm they said.

I also heard some shopping malls and other venues were closing early today by 9 p.m.

I am arriving on Saturday is it with it do you think. Not worried about safety as this seems a peacful situation. Bu will the bars etc be open?

I am veering towards yes, as I'm sure people will want to drink and party post-coup. As many were drinking and partying during prime-time coup, I don't think there should be a problem. The only concern is whether or not the hours will be normal.

Are the bars open tonight!!!

Man, I hope so :o

Starbucks opened at 9.30am this morning.

Question....if there is a curfew, what happens if your in a short time room and the alloted time overlaps the curfew time...do you have to saty longer or go ?

Are the bars open tonight!!!

Any confirmation whether or not the bars are open?

I don't exactly want to head to soi cowboy to find an empty street...

me too, guys any confirmation at all for tonight curfew or not etc?

There has been official announcement that there is no curfew aired on TV.

There has been official announcement that there is no curfew aired on TV.

You are right, no curfew as reported on the news, only rumour.

Business as usual as of tomorrow.

All rumours. This morning, when I left my apartment to work, the girl in the lobby told me that there might be a curfew soon, so I better stay ("her friend told her..."). I didn't pay attention to that and she was surprised that I went out despite her warning. Obviously, there was no curfew.

In these times rumours can spread easily.

The Banglamung Police just informed us that all bars are to close at 9pm to conform with martial law.

And a friend in BKK just told me that his Pub <major one> will be open normal hours

Hard Rock shuts today...just called them

Suk Soi 11 is opened for beverages (alcoholic)

If indeed the bars close at 9PM and this is consistent with other places its hardly worth coming...

Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks

John ---- it is your firsttrip here ... it will be worth coming ....

What is happening here is your confusing CURFEW AND MARTIAL LAW.

There has been no mention of a curfew which does involve the restriction of movement between certain hours.

Martial law interpreted basically means that the Army have taken over rule in the short term.

macb

Got a call confirming that Sliom Centre closed at about 8 tonight, usual time 9. So whilst not a curfew, looks like some places may be going for early closing at least.

Regards

movie theaters at emporium and paragon closed early, premiere of 'world trade center' was pushed back until tomorrow.

generally 9pm seems to be closing time for most major places. seem to be plenty of street carts etc open over here in thonburi, as far as i can tell from the 22nd floor... can't speak to watering holes over in 'the city'...

as martial laws go, this is kinda martial law lite. in new york not only did we have tanks we had f16s circling and i had to show my ID to get home.

7:10 pm The ARC issues an order to maintain the status of Khunying Jaruvan Maintaka as the auditor-general.

but then...

The order removes the State Audit Commission but maintains Jaruvan's status as well as maintaining the provision of the SAC Act. :D

7:29 pm A spokesman of the ARC announces that the ARC has not imposed curfew and the people can live their life as usual.....Cowboy Open...Yippee :o:D

This is the "people living as usual" coup :o

Oh cowboy.. the eden of Bangkok, whatever would you do on a Wed night without it?

( see you all soon:P )

Curfew info is in the stupid rumours section. :D:o
