Endocrinologist and/or related blood tests - Koh Samui

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I'll be arriving on Samui next week, and will be sticking around for a few months.

I was hoping to arrange for some blood work to be done in order to determine whether or not I ought to seek out an endocrinologist for further diagnosis and treatment. In part due to a fairly long and complicated recovery from another medical condition, my doctor suggested that I may be exhibiting symptoms of hypogonadism. Unfortunately, I was not able to get this looked at prior to my trip.

I'd like to have the initial blood testing done to see whether or not this is something I need to have looked at more closely.

Can anyone recommend:

1. A clinic or lab that can carry out the required blood work. I imagine I'll need T and free T levels checked...and will probably also need to have my thyroid looked at. Anything else?; and (though I realise my chances are slim to none on this one)

2. An endocrinologist or anyone on Samui that might be able to help?

Cheers,

N

Moved to Samui forum, for local knowledge.

This is a very complex medical issue.

You are not going to find a doctor on Samui with the requisite expertise. The closest possible source would be in Surat Thani at Taksin Hospital but frankly even there, I doubt you would do all that well in terms of expertise and you would bestserved by going to Bangkok.

However, most or possibly all the lab work can be done locally. Suggest Samui International Hospital http://www.sih.co.th/services.htm

Thanks Sheryl, I figured as much!

Could you recommend anyone in particular in BKK?
