Hi all

We have had this Longan growing in a pot a couple of years now

I repotted in about a month ago

It stopped growing and the leaves are going brown from the outside in

I was wondering if any experts out there can tell me what to do to save our Plant

See Pics attached

Why you had it in a pot for 2 years then move it to another pot I will not even ask. This is a species of a tree which does not need root restriction as you will find when you place potted plants which have a spreading, food / mositure seeking root system in a restricted area (man made pots) for healthy root development. The fertrlizer, watering frequency/quanity, sunlight exposure, etc can also have an effect on the health of any plant or animal.

good luck.

We have limited room at our house for plants

I'm waiting till it grows bigger so we can take it to the farm and plant it and so its big enough to look after itself

It may not be 2 years yet but a fair while

It was growing fine in the smaller pot new growth all the time

but some roots had grown through the bottom of the pot

I was very careful while repotting as not to damage the roots

I see right now it has a small shoot coming away but I'm sure it must be lacking in something or the PH is wrong

I just used normal potting mix PH is about neutral

Or maybe it's just shocked in the move ?

Looks to me like :over watering (maybe the drainage hole is blocked, or soil too heavy, as well as a deficiency in iron/magnesium (leaves yellowing between the veins).

I could never get Longon to grow, going for Lam yai soon

I can get them to grow easy enough

I took one to the Farm and planted it last week

They wont get watered during the dry season so fingers crossed

I had drilled some extra holes around the pot a day or two before I started this thread

It now has some new shoots growing so looking promising clap2.gif

I had also given it a dose of Epsom Salts I might see if I can find an old bottle cap and scratch the paint of it so it rusts and chuck it in the pot

Rusty iron will not be accessible to the plant. Plenty of fertilisers with iron, magnesium and so on available. Osmocote is one, there are other, cheaper ones.
