Valentine
In AppData/Local/Temp is it safe just to go ahead & clear out all the files & folders in the Temp folder. I seem to have a large amount of files there amounting to more than 1Gb.
drupopuppis
Some programs keep important files in there, surprisingly. If you are interested in freeing some space I'd advise to only delete the files excluding those that were created in the last 24h or so, or the ones you know for sure aren't used by other programs, such as old installers from software you downloaded, etc. You can use software such as CCleaner to do that. bendejo
Just about all temp or tmp folders can be emptied. Some programs will have their own. You may want to individually investigate each before zapping them. Once you have, you can "include" them in the CCleaner's cleanup routine. h90
I frequently delete everything temp. So far no problem.
slipperylobster
ccleaner is pretty smart and will not destroy important files...unless you go into settings and put additional folders into it. Just download and clean. used it for years.
KhunBENQ
Such stuff also accumulates if you have crashes or power outages on computers without battery or UPS or other irregular shutdowns (intentionally switching main power). I simply try to delete the whole stuff. Some files or folders might not be deletable as they are in use. You get an appropriate message on that. Alternatively you can do a cleanup with Windows incl. system files. Might free you GB of space (more than just the temp folder). Should work in all Win7 SP1 installations and later. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/2852386
