Nick167
Why should any special treatment be accorded to these group. Treat them like all normal people...you default on your loans, you become bankrupt...period. These are the worst people in thailand.....corrupt , mafia like criminals. kiwikeith
The more that go the better......in reality, the entire force should be dismantled and re-built with new personel! More traffic police stops needed.
LannaGuy
Some calculations per person are in order I think. 9,000,000,000 / 13,000 = 692,307.69 THB per person 2,000,000,000 / 2,500 = 800,000 THB per person 900,000,000 / 1,100 = 818,181.82 THB per person Just for the people who think the 9 Billion THB is a lot... So being around 2.55 Billion US dollars is not a lot in you way of thinking. One would have trouble spending the interest, let alone the capital in a lifetime. Oh, I just forgot who posted what I was reading. Sorry Bill. pray tell how do you calculate 9 billion THB is 2.55 billion USD? 9 billion divided by 34 is? 2.55 billion? Sorry, a little typo, decimal point in wrong place, should have been .255 billion, I thought US$ was 36 but at 34 it's still a lot, around 300 million. Please accept my apologies. Rogergreybeard
Then you are living in lala land post="9769020" timestamp="1440351982"] That is a lot of $$$. Here am I thinking that the Thai police were upstanding citizens, setting an example for the community. Never saw a cop take a bribe, free drink or meal. No1
If that is the right thing to do, it should apply to all government employees, not only cops. To another point, and to ensure the quality of work, all government officials who own more than X million THB should also be kicked out, including prime ministers, of course. gk10002000
Now wait a minute. Being declared bankrupt means all debts are canceled and they start with a clean slate. Let's just suppose they have items or money stashed away. now, no institution can come after them if all of a sudden they are seen with money.
