Looking for the cheapest option to make phone calls to landlines in the UK, not using Computers , Skype etc? Do any of the mobile networks have special rate but I would prefer to get a paid phone card with a number to call before the destination number.

You're calling from a mobile here? Which provider?

004 DTAC, 005 AIS, 006 TrueMove H, 009 CAT and 008 TOT all offer reduced rates.

There may be calling cards which offer decent rates; the CAT PhoneNet card is 2 baht/min to U.K fixed lines, and you get free local access (so no extra charges on your mobile). There are a lot of pre-paid calling cards here so shop around for a potentially better rate.

TrueMove H have their 00600 service which shows as 1 baht/min. to U.K. fixed lines, but not usre if you can use that unless you have that specific SIM, or maybe if you port in from another provider (assuming it hasn't been 'grand-fathered').

From any mobile phone just use prefix 009 (CAT).

Special offer until 30 Sep 2015:

4 Baht/min to landline and mobile, all European countries.

009 44 ...

Very similar thread just recently, have a look there:

It was still working earlier this year. It was more like 1 baht plus Vat and then some !! If you work on 1.5 Baht you cant go wrong. Considering we were paying 70 Baht from Travel Agents 20-25 Years ago not a bad deal !!
