August 8, 201510 yr Does anyone know somewhere to get a HIV / syphilis test by urine sample in Bangkok, for those that don't like injections (e.g. the Thai Red Cross does both of those cheaply, but by injection). I think I recall some bargirls get this done at the Cabbages & Condoms subsidized clinic on Soi 12, not sure though. Same question for general chlamydia / gonorrhea by urine test, if that's possible, have heard it's possible to test for 'everything', again not sure. Ideally looking for a clinic, I'm aware any hospital can do it, they tend to be more expensive though. Thanks
August 8, 201510 yr I believe some of these STD'd you need blood.I had heard of A couple that the sperm needs to be tested.
August 8, 201510 yr From the Mayo Cliniv website: Tests and diagnosis By Mayo Clinic Staff If your sexual history and current signs and symptoms suggest that you have an STI, laboratory tests can identify the cause and detect coinfections you might have contracted. Blood tests. Blood tests can confirm the diagnosis of HIV or later stages of syphilis. Urine samples. Some STIs can be confirmed with a urine sample. Fluid samples. If you have active genital sores, testing fluid and samples from the sores may be done to diagnose the type of infection. Laboratory tests of material from a genital sore or discharge are used to diagnose the most common bacterial and some viral STIs at an early stage. Screening Testing for a disease in someone who doesn't have symptoms is called screening. Most of the time, STI screening is not a routine part of health care, but there are exceptions: Everyone. The one STI screening test suggested for everyone ages 15 to 65 is a blood or saliva test for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), the virus that causes AIDS. Younger teens at high risk should also be screened. Everyone born between 1945 and 1965. There's a high incidence of hepatitis C in people born between 1945 and 1965. Since the disease often causes no symptoms until it's advanced, experts recommend that everyone in that age group be screened for hepatitis C. http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/sexually-transmitted-diseases-stds/basics/tests-diagnosis/con-20034128
December 27, 201510 yr Multiplex PCR STD from urine sample is done by the expensive private hospitals like Bumrungrad or Bangkok Hospital. You need to see a doctor because by yourself you will not know what exactly you want to test. Cost about 4000.
December 28, 201510 yr Reading the headline, I thought you meant police were randomly stopping non-Thais and testing their urine for STDs. That would be a great way to weed out the sexual perverts from the wholesome, genuine tourists!
December 29, 201510 yr Maybe you should try curing your Trypanophobia first OP Yes, its time to be a big boy: if you can go out whoring around Bangkok, surely you can put up with a small prick (the girls have to....)
