bkksteve123 Posted August 12, 2015 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Keep in mind that September is the rainiest month, which statistically sees 21 rainy days and a total of 334mm of precipitation (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bangkok#Climate). Having said that, August and October and not much better. Just something to keep in mind when you come here, if you've only been here in April. Usually though the rain comes in the evening and lasts a few hours, other than that it's mostly cloudy but you do get some sunshine as well. It seldom rains here all day like we see in parts of Europe. If you're coming for a beach holiday, I would recommend postponing to November. If not, you'll be fine! I'm not investing until I convince enough tourists to visit during the monsoon... But even during the monsoon, the MRT and BTS still run, the shops and pubs are still open, the beer's still cold, and the cuties are still cute. If you are going to party all night and sleep until afternoon with your latest honey, the weather is of little matter. If you want to be a tourist and visit the beaches, ride the elephants, see the temples, climb up to the waterfalls, and buy the t-shirts; the weather may be an issue. November to February may be best weather; as someone else said. If you're worried about the cost, come during the monsoon season--April to October--it is the low season. Phuket seems to be flooded at the moment but the east coast islands (Samui and such) are fine. Bangkok and Hua Hin are also pretty dry it seems of late. ozyjon Posted August 12, 2015 Share Posted August 12, 2015 Now is the best time to come, a light sprinkling of rain at night really helps to cool things down, you can go to a close area like Bangsean or Hua Hin or even Pattaya even better (with not many people there) Rayong. While in Bangkok avoid the rip off tuk tuks and taxis just use the cheap canal boats only 8 baht per ride, takes you everywhere and also a favorite this time of year, the open restaurants usually by a lake, there is usually a pleasant cool breeze that blows through with the slightest whiff of fragrance from the herb gardens surrounding many of these open air restaurants, so come soon not to miss this experience and Noi is waiting for you.
