North Korea vice-premier Choe Yong-gon 'executed'

BBC: -- South Korea's government says it is monitoring reports that North Korea's vice-premier Choe Yong-gon was killed in May on the orders of Kim Jong-un.

Mr Choe was executed after he "expressed discomfort against the young leader's forestation policy", South Korea's Yonhap news agency reports.

Close to 70 officials have been killed under Kim Jong-un's rule, Yonhap says.

The BBC has not been able to verify the claims. North Korea rarely confirms the South's reports of executions.
Mr Choe was last seen publicly in December, South Korea's unification ministry said.

The ministry said it was "closely monitoring the possibility of any changes in Choe's circumstances".

Why didn't someone assassinate this Guy Kim when he was studying in Switzerland? Or a convenient accident?

He was strapped to the warhead of one of those test missiles they fire over Japan and which always fails and plunges into the ocean North of Japan.

Hard to believe in this day and age...a leader could be so calloused...inhumane...and stupid...all at one time.

Getting terminated in this government...could be the end of your career and life at the same time...forget unemployment benefits...

Firstly, because nobody knew he would inherit. He is not the first son. Secondly, because that may have triggered an "event". Thirdly, because there was some optimism about if he was to step into Kim Jong Ill's shoes, that he would moderate things. Fourthly, because....why bother about it when 70 crazy, brainwashed NK generals die...it matters not to anyone outside NK.

The 70 officials who are gone, bring an entirely new meaning to "being transferred to an inactive post". IN North Korea, it does not pay to be ambitious and rise to a position where you are noticed.

He must be running out of puppets. And those left might just catch on to there being safety in numbers and decide on a coup.

He has probably already done away with the ones intelligent enough to organise one... gigglem.gif

If one sups with the devil, better use a long spoon.

Surely they must know by now that not agreeing with everything the monster orders is suicide?

Now that's a real cabinet re-shuffle.

he put them on a real inactive post -

stripp off the ranks -

and no retirement bonuses !!

Thai can learn from him,

therefore they had some meeting this week;

I know a country that is a good friend of N. korea and easily could end up as N. Korea ... This country should maybe execute some officials them self cause in that country they actually deserve it ...

The great thing about this specimen is that he's easily young enough to be around long enough that his world comes down. It's a guilty pleasure seeing how these types eventually get dug or blown out of their hidey holes.

Rule by execution. It will be interesting if/when the fanatics of ISIS come up against the borders of N.Korea. Something like army ants confronting a nest of beetles which blow toxic spray out their butt holes.
