Hi, just noticed that TomTom GO live traffic is up and running. Good news as its good one.

Im using android TomTom GO, I can recommend it now. I wouldn't without traffic.

Is there some trick to enabling this? On mine I've got:

* Send your location to receive services enabled

* TomTom Services Traffic & Speed Cam enabled

...but no traffic displays on map?

I'm using the free 75km per month option.

I notice since last two days TomTom free 75km has started displaying live traffic. I didn't change anything since last posting except my location in Thailand.

I downloaded Tom Tom GO earlier today after reading this topic. Went out to test it and found that location wise it's not as accurate as the GPS in my V-Cross. or the Maps App. This is on a Galaxy Note 2 if that makes any difference.

For example ... Both my inbuilt GPS and Maps App knew that I was on a road below but adjacent to a Bridge Flyover but Tom Tom GO had me on the bridge and told me to go straight on and do a U-Turn in a few kms, whereas I just needed the next left. Other than that it's easy to use.

I did also note that it's more meters out when passing Sois than the other two. Maybe I'll try a years membership and if no good pay for Sygic ... Ford have a lot to answer for ......As a fall back I have my old Garmin 3770.

Google maps gets confused too

But i drove on that tomtom go pattaya to bkk and around bkk was okay.

Still google maps its great alternative with live traffic and its free...

Told my friend about this and he went and bought it. Then he calls me and says that there was no refund button as usual when you buy on Google play, because it's an in-app purchase lol. There was a link to ask for a refund but he hasn't heard back. And I did tell him that Sygic is better imo. I even gave him a special version of Sygic.

So be aware if you do this.

In google aps store they in app description they got email for refunds.

You email them.

Sigic is owned by tomtom, or they use tomtom maps data.

And its not better

I'm not hugely impressed with GO. Probably the gps is ok and it's the map that's wrong.

Have only used it in a car with cheap film. I'll try in my truck and hopefully it will be better. I wonder if I pay the 700 baht it will be better

I've got the free Tomtom Go v1.6 Android and get map updates. The last one was nearly a 1GB update of SE Asia.

I find a combination of this free 75km TomTom and a "free" unlimited version of Sygic fits my needs. Route selection has been better on some routes with Sygic for me, the 3D and lane selection options of Sygic look better for me. TomTom has a much better looking interface and live traffic, but traffic is bad everywhere so I find little use for it.
