Old House on Jomtien Beach Road

My wife and I just moved to Jomtien from South Pattaya (great change for us - so much easier and quieter).

We're learning our way around.

There is an abandoned house on the beach road in Jomtien.Near Soi 8.

Right next to an (also abandoned) View Talay sales office.

Big piece of property - Large house. Totally dilapidated.

It's hard to miss, as it's about the only private villa on the beach road around there.

I realize that with new Condos and Projects, that things often sit still for ages.

But - We have people visiting soon, and I'd love to give them the story (if there is one) about the house.

Anyone out there have any interesting (and even true?) comments of what happened?

If its the same place, about 15 years ago,

im sure I saw a plack on the left side of the building

with a reference to the catholic church. or sister something ?

Go down and have a look.

I could be talking about a different place as I don't go down the beach road now days .

Can you post a picture of the place ?

Little bit off topic but still Jomtien beach road ?

Is the old Steam train painted black and blue still down the end of the beach road ?

I really dislike going by that house at night. All too frequently a young teenage girl who looks like she just went for a swim in the ocean is in one of the windows, just starring out. Right after I see her she vanishes. True story: The house was once owned by a rich Thai family. One night the parents' teenage daughter went for a swim in the ocean with her boyfriend and drowned. The parents could no longer live in the house after that. The place is now haunted. I would never go inside.

Sounds plausible in a country where 99% believes in ghosts.

I learned how to post a photo to TV.

Not so sure I learned about the spooky cool old house ...

Sorry guys. The ghost story won't fly.

Although I just discovered that tons of photos have been moved on my laptop.

Will chase those ghosts instead.

well done for the pic.

Don't think its the place I was thinking of, it must have been bulldozed

and made into a business by now.

I think there is (or used to be) a plaque out front "Jomtien Beach House". Been empty, falling apart at least since I got here ten years ago. With no real estate taxes and probably well to do owner, no reason to sell it. Like money in the bank but no interest tax.... I never thought I would be for real estate taxation, but at least that leads to property being used for something more often....
