user82374298374
My guess is that the missing 'insurance' in this case consisted of a dearth of brown envelopes to the right people.

bluebluewater
I was at a "fun fair" at the local Tesco once where they had a paddle boat pool for the kids. Pool was maybe 20m sq. The lifeguard was a 10 year old girl. Not a life jacket to be seen as the toddlers loaded on. Light stands in all four corners and the power to the far side was provided by a power cord strung over the pool and directly above the center of the pool was a power coupling that was just plugged in male/female with no safety connectors at all. One stumble, trip, or fall over the cord that pulls that connection apart and no one in the pool would have had a chance.
Jonmarleesco
'... authorities discovered it lacked accident insurance for its equipment ...' They no doubt assumed they didn't need it. After all, this is Thailand.
