Planning tourism travel in October end - Rainfall?

Featured Replies

Hello

I am new here. I am from singapore and planning a solo 10 day trip to Pattaya and Bangkok from oct 20 - oct 30.

I have been to Bangkok last year for a week during July and rainfall was very manageable. I will be primarily there for the nightlife and fun!

My questions are:

  • How much more rainfall would October experience compared to July season?
  • How much costlier will the hotel be in general compared to July season?

Apart from these, what have been the major updates concerning tourism over last 1 year?

Thanks

Re: hotels, you'll be shouldering into the start of the "high season".

If you can remember what you paid last year in July, compare that to quotes you see for October this year. Check sites like Agoda as hotels may load some rooms on promotional fares there. I like to check the hotels own website and compare as well.

Have a good trip.

Looks like October is relatively worse than July in terms of rain. How long does a rain spell last per day? How bad is it for travelling?

For hotel, last july they were so empty that I did not even have to book rooms and could get one on the spot. Can I do so in Oct?

Rainstorms in Bkk./Pattaya are generally about 1 hr. in length. A 2 hr. storm would be a long one, and should occur only once or twice in Oct. Come as late in Oct. as possible. The rainy season ends abruptly sometime from Oct. 23 -31.

Cool. After this 1 hour of rain, how are the roads like? Water logged or the water drains away?

Good drainage on main roads. Some problems in back lanes in neighbourhoods which tourists are unlikely to be visiting.

It's water.......... So what, if worried bring armbands and snorkel. To be honest mate you sound like your new everywhere!

I have sent you a Private Mail.

Hello,

There's no telling how the weather will be. God only knows.

It's been very hot here for the past week, during which time it rained a few

times for only one hour or two respectively, even though this is supposed

to be in the middle of the rainy season now.

Is it? I was reading that Pattaya is devastated by flooding by Vamco storm !!

But I am sure things will improve by 15 October .

I live in Prachuap Khiri Khan Province now. It's been very hot here

for the last several days. It's baking hot here at this moment.
