St georges day in england

It's St George's Day in England today - the 'national' day for England.  But I wonder how many people in England will know this - and how many will fly the English or British flag? (About 3 people at the most I guess..)

How different this is to Thailand, where the national flag and colours are seen everywhere, and people seem proud to be Thai.

What do other expats think about this?  Do you feel 'proud' to be part of the Thai nation, and do you fly the Thai flag?

A little gripe on my part, but I find it very sad that in a country like England it seems almost a racial crime to show you are proud of your country.
