I am applying for ed degree in primary by correspondence with an australian uni. Has anyone got one of these and can tell me what kind of doors they will open compared to the arts degree offered by a uni in thailand? Any experiences or useful info would be great thanks.

Is that through UNE? If so, I did the GradDipEd through them. Note you would need to possibly return for up to two residential schools. You need to be teaching the subject and grade level you are qualifying for. And you also need to have majored in your undergrad for the classes you are teaching now. So if you have a maths degree, you would need to be teaching maths in your current school, and at the correct level. Your Principal / Department Head fills out two "Principals Reports" to demonstrate your teaching competence. I did my course over 4 years, and was mostly made up of written assignments. I did one exam which was held in Bangkok. Hope that helps.
