Visa Run To Rangoon, Myanmar- Can You Exchange Baht For Kyat In Myanmar

Featured Replies

Going on a Visa run to Rangoon, Myanmar- can you exchange baht for Kyat in Myanmar and if yes does anyone know the exchange rate. Is it better to change baht into dollars in thailand and THEN into kyat in Myanmar? :o Baht being so strong and all, I thought it might be better to take baht.

for the best exchange rate - dollars... 100 dollar bills. crisp clean.

if the notes are messy, they will reduce the rate.

(beware, exchanging can be tricky, hotels will rip you off, and doing it on the street is illegal)

Thanks... saw on a site that they were giving 36.4 kyat to the baht and at that exchange rate I think it would be better for me just to come with baht... but I am out of green backs and would have to buy them in bangkok only to trade them in for kyat. Given that this is what I would have to do, has anyone had experence bringing baht? :o
