Hi,

I plan on going to Penang to get my first Non-O Marriage visa.

1) I plan on coming back into Thailand and getting the 1 year extension. Which should I get a single entry or multiple? I just called a visa agency in Penang and they said if i get a single entry i will need to show 800k to immigration when i apply for the extension.

I have read this figure for retirement visas not for marriage visas. Can anyone clarify this for me?

Requirement is 400k in bank account 2 months or 40k per month income for one year extension from immigration. If you want to delay that going to Vientiane for a multi entry non immigrant O visa allowing 90 day stay and exit/returns for new 90 day stays for a year is also often done.

The agent misunderstood what you were wanting apparently. You can get a single entry non-o visa based upon marriage in Penang with no financial proof.

Great thanks. I don't want to mess around with enter/exit every 90 days so will apply for the extension for sure. Just got worried when she said 800k for the extension. Good to also know you don't need the financial proof for single entry in penang. Thanks

You don't need a multiple if you plan on extending at Immigration.

I was referring to locations in Laos.

Yes Penang with financial proof but Savannakhet does them with none needed.

But you don't need or want one anyway.

"90 day stay and exit/returns" - I realise this allows you to stay in Thailand upto 90 days per time but do you also mean that you should not be outside Thailand for 90 days? Im looking at some 4 month work rotations. If this is the case then I will change plans.

There is no limit on the amount of time you can spend outside the country.
