Odd SCB Banking fees ?

Featured Replies

Long time i logged in to my scb - online banking system and i saw some odd fees i do not know/remember what they are. Obviously i will go and ask bank when i am back in Thailand but Maby somebody knows here..

Every month 25 th goes "channel SMS" description fee 20 baht..?

This month only first day, "channel ATS", description fee 599 baht ?

I have debit card from there + auto billing for electric of my condo. and that fee seems to be 5 baht every month

Thank for any input..smile.png

The 20 baht per month is for your SMS alert for withdrawls and a balance SMS every Friday. This is sent to your Thai mobile.

The 599 baht is for your yearly ATM card fee.

I hope this helps

O.k

Thanks a lot..

No visit to bank needed thensmile.png

If you have online banking you can turn off the SMS alerts. It's an option on one of the screens, then you won't pay the 20 baht a month.

On the other hand it can give your peace of mind. Just make sure your phone number is up to date. If it's not you will need to go to the bank to change it. Take your passport.

For some reason my online bankingsystem with SCB is somehow limited.. If i click "sms alert" link i always get "Sorry, you cannot do this transaction at the moment. Please try again later" -message..Also i cannot add 3rd Party’s SCB accounts or any other accounts because their software do not show my phonenumber to get OTP etc..

Only thing i can do online is top up my prepaidnumber..With this feature my phonenumber shows in system to get this OTP so the probelm is not that they do not have my number on their file..So far i have not bothered to go to bank because of these limitations but maby one day i go and try my luck,,

Go to your home branch and give them your mobile number officially. Just because you can top up a cell phone means nothing to SCB. I top up my girlfriends AIS phone all the time and it sure is not in my profile, except her phone is in a biller template that I use on the SCB site that keeps me from having to enter all her information every time I top up. I also have the same template for my DTAC cell phone. I only need the OTP (one time password) for the first couple of times and then it never requires it again

Everything banking wise in Thailand is based upon your mobile number so I am not the least surprised that you are having trouble.

I just can't understand how you were able to open the account without a cell number in the first place. Most people who live here understand the importance of keeping the same cell number just for banking purposes. The main concern of most that are away from Thailand for a while are is that they are always worried about losing their number due to inactivity

Well, i quess i should give them a visit and ask why my online banking is limited..

I am pretty sure they have my phonenumbe on file because i remember also receiving phonecall from that bank when my condommoney arrived..

If i remember right they then asked something like if i want exchange my euros now or later..

You got the phone call when your funds arrived because it was on the SWIFT wire request, not necessarily in your profile
