Police identify Thai man as accomplice in Bangkok blasts

po1.jpg

BANGKOK, 29 September 2015 (NNT)- Police are hunting for a Thai man believed to have supplied explosive materials to Ratchaprasong and Sathorn Pier bombers.

Police Chief Police General Somyos Poompanmuang said police would ask the court to issue an arrest warrant for another suspect, identified as Mr. Yongyuth Pobkeaw, who police said had had a role in the crimes.

According to the Chief, Mr. Yongyuth allegedly obtained bomb making materials such as metal pipes and ball bearings from various stores. Police will only reveal details of the blasts once the suspect is arrested. Mr. Yongyuth is also known to many people, including the police, by his nickname ‘Odd’.

He was previously charged in 2010 and 2014 when he was found to have been in connection to two explosions. Despite the lack of his personal details, Police General Somyos said it would not be a problem to locate him.

Thai police have been trying to locate other suspects, including the man seen wearing a blue shirt shown on CCTV camera, via diplomatic cooperation and Interpol assistance.

Meanwhile, the Metro Police Bureau has been instructed to find a foreign man carrying a backpack who was seen walking into the military court on September 25th. He will be questioned by the authorities as to why he entered the court.

What was he charged with in 2010 and 2014? And if it was bomb-making, why is he still running around making bombs?

Also, didn't the RTP state quite categorically in the early weeks that no Thai would ever be involved in anything like this? Has this been retracted or simply forgotten about?

Slowly but surely the truth will out.

2010 bomb, 2014 bomb and now 2015 bomb. One colour links them all. The same one which is the only group to carry out terrorism in Bangkok in the last 10 years.

But plebs like this don't make the decision to do it. Who gave the order ?.

" He will be questioned by the authorities as to why he entered the court."

Don't bother, chasing the white Arab....I can answer the question for you; "I entered the building because I am a tourist and no security tried to stop me...so I had a look around, as tourists do."

Ahhh, but John, no Thai could be so dastardly, and since some Chinese Muslims were caught in the net with fake passports, and since there is a connection to a Southern Muslim as the tenant, this non-Muslim Thai is only wanted for buying pipe and ball bearings.

Just as on TVF, if there is a Muslim connection to be drawn, it will be drawn.

For the past 5 years, they've been looking for Odd, and haven't found him. By linking him to the Erawan bombing, do you think he will magically turn up? Amazing how Somyot, on his last day of work, will somehow solve 3 bombing cases and bring this fugitive to justice. Can't wait to see it all unravel while Somyot is gambling away his ill-gotten fortunes in the casinos.

I think he was on bail or something

I'm not an expert in police work, but doesn't case closed mean just that - the case is closed? Or does case-closed in Thailand means close-the-case-to-collect-money-first? Then work on actually closing the case later - including proving the person caught is indeed guilty (this is also easy in LOS) and that a conviction actually takes place after a (farcical) trial?

And the odds are that the last government paid it for him.

You and I are supposed to forget about that, I also remember no bomb making expertise of this previously unseen in Thailand type of bomb that a foreigner came and taught locals how to make.

Go to <http://nsnbc.me/wp-content/uploads/2015/08/PipeBombs_2015_2014Comparison_Min-Buri_Thailand_ATN.jpg>

one bomb was the actual remains of the bomb which blew up 2 men, all edged red shirts, and which "Odd" was charged with. The other is an Thai Royal Army reconstruction of the Erawan bomb.

This comes from Tony Caralucci, reporting from Bangkok, in his article, at <http://nsnbc.me/2015/08/26/janes-analyst-implicates-nato-terror-group-in-bangkok-blast/ > he writes

"In fact, large pipe bombs almost identical in make and material to those used last week and in the double Siam bombing, have been at the center of an ongoing investigation stretching as far back as 2010 where an apartment exploded in Nonthaburi as alleged " red shirts were attempting to assemble explosive devices. A similar incident occurred in 2014 amid anti-Shinawatra protests, where two alleged red shirt terrorists accidentally killed themselves when a large pipe bomb they were carrying exploded."

I can't vouch for his objectivity. But he's worth a read.

Global Research and nsnbc.me are two alternative media sources.

Who gave those odds? Not a virulent, frothing at the mouth Thaksin hater by any chance??

Halloween, read more and don't agree blindly just because of your prejudice. The man Odd never had arrest warrant and was never was convicted by accounts of the DSI. Sure the RTP said he was arrested and prosecuted. Then the funny part that they have no identification record of him and not even an ID. The RTP is making up silly assumption daily and you milking all this up.

Ah, John. You just had to write that, didn't you dear heart?! Do you feel better now my friend?

"One colour links them all."

John, it's obviously not good for you to binge watch the Lord Of The Rings trilogy. You start mixing facts and fiction even more than usual.

it's very sad that with issues as serious as this, there are fools who cannot resist entirely speculative linkages in their attempt to provoke and add hatred.

Considering every single terrorist event I have seen in Thailand has been from Muslim's or red-shirts, I think some speculation is justified.

Just like during the last protests when you were all saying it was not the red-shirts firing the grenades : it was Suthep doing it to get attention. Oops - the red-shirts got caught !! and so we have forgotten about that one.

If I slapped you in the face 10 times then you closed your eyes and got slapped again, would you run outside wondering who did it ?. Actually, I think you might.

most of the bombers were never caught so i dont think anyone can claim to know who did them
