Good Dermatoligist In Cm?

I'm fair skinned and have abused my skin when younger and it was fashionable to have a tan.....now i'm paying the price with lots of skin problems and i've checked out the dermatologist in CM Ram and was not impressed with his bedside manner or diagnosis. Have asked around about others that may have liquid nitrogen to 'burn off' the affected areas, but no one i've found has liquid notrogen. Anyone out there in CM know of any good dermatologists that use liquid nitrogen??

I think it depends on what type of treatment. But my wife went the other day to get some cream, etc and inquired about the cost and it was something along the lines of 100 THB for 1 laser "shock". Not quite sure what she meant, I didn't bother to ask her what she meant by "shock".

The warts i had removed cost 1500 baht and it was over in minutes. There were 5 warts to remove.. Bargain compared to several liquid nitro visits. And no pain whatsoever. Well maybe a little considering where they were...

It may be necessary to go to BKK for more high-powered laser treatments. I am thinking of doing it, so P.M. and we can make a pair or team for mutual support.

The dermatologist at CM Ram 1, is Sathorn Chiewpanich. He attends (according to his card) three days a week "Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday"

CM Ram use IPL "intense pulsed light" which is not "strictly speaking" a laser (and the use of which according to a "down under" Dermatological Surgeon who is a "Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians" has some (or can have some) undesired consequences/results)

Australian (and New Zealand) dermatological specialists would perhaps see more carcinomas than dermatologists from the rest of the world combined.

It is unlikely that a laser would be used in the removal of carcinomas as they generally require removal surgically.

If they are removed by laser (by whatever type) it would be a quick fix and very likely that they would re-emerge at some later date. And it must be remembered melanoma is the precursor to cancer which can prove fatal if left too long.

Finally carcinomas can be either malignant or non-malignant. It is only a qualified pathologist who can determine the difference, and this only from affected tissue removed from the patient.

I am not a "dermatologist" but I have had occasion to avail myself of their services.

I would still like to hear some feedback from anyone after treatment in the "big mango"

Sorry, i have to disagree with your assessment of the dermatologist im CM Ram. he was the reason that i startyed this thread. my first visit to him was in vane because his stock of liquid notrogen was out [still charged for exam and was told to reschedule when it arrived]. 2nd visit after i called to make sure he had liquid nitrogen.......he missed several 'spots' that he saw before and gave me a quick once over while yacking like a used car salesman.

OMHO....he talks the talk, but doesn't deliver and ....I'M STILL LOOKING for a good derma man.

I am afraid that I am unable to advise exactly (I do not know) however the advice was from one of the foremost dermatological specialists in Australasia, with, in excess of twenty years post graduate experience in the field.

He uses a "Candela V beam laser"

I have no negative comments about Dr Sathorn however I have met him and discussed treatment with him at CM Ram 1

Dr Sathorn uses an Aurora IPL

I recently had to have a Basel Cell Carcinova renoved from my nose. This was done by a plastic surgeon, a Dr Songpoon (well that's how you say it anyway!). He operates out of a private clinic in CM as well as CM Ram Hospital.

Whilst not a dermatologist, he demonstrated a great deal of understanding and caution (eg. the normal pathology checks, and he wants to observe it for 12 months afterwards) - something I must say I have not experienced in Australia where they see so many that they tend to take them too cheaply.

Once this is finished I too will be looking for liquid nitrogen treatment for the other spots - much more effective than the laser treatment in my experience - the lasered spots tend to return. I will ask the Dr for a recommendation on someone to do this.

A couple of negatives though - I was shocked at how much he charged, plus he insisted on two nights stay in hospital for something that would have been done in day-surgery in Australia.
