PATTAYA: -- As previously reported by us, the Chinese Vegetarian Festival known as “Gin Jai” takes place between 12th and 22nd October and the grand opening of the festival took place on Monday at the headquarters of the Sawang Boriboon Foundation in Banglamung.

Khun Wittaya, the Chairman of the Chonburi Provincial Administration led the proceedings which sees followers abstain from consuming meat for a period of 11 days. It is also forbidden to slaughter animals during this time.
