user82374298374
The main requirement is a lack of concern for your child's education.
swissbie
Not all public schools are that bad. Ask friends and other people about a good one in your neighborhood, then go for a talk with the school administrator.

orpheus454
Go and chat with the school! Our daughter is now in P1 at the local government school, and our 3 and a half year old son will be beginning 2 days a week in Kindergarten 1 in a couple of weeks. I monitor things as they go along, but the school seems pretty good so far.
Suradit69
The main requirement is a lack of concern for your child's education. What a helpful reply Typical of the "Everything Thai Bad - Everything Farang Wonderful" loser mentality that infects the bitter old dears of all ages here at the hub of Kvetching. Possibly the O/P is interested in helping the child develop social skills with kids from his neighborhood. I doubt his prospects for admission to Harvard medical school will be blighted by a year spent in a public kindergarten. MaeJoMTB
The main requirement is a lack of concern for your child's education. He's asking about kindergarten not university. They are all private below age 5. My boy goes to the local Amphur kindergarten, 1.800bht a term inc lunch and milk. All you need is their fee. Two American kids at my son's place. We looked at places charging 5k a term, didn't seem much to choose between them. He speaks great Lanna after attending for 3 months. And socializes well. Learning to write Thai and English letters. Can't expect much more than that. Real education starts at age 7 or 8. Before that it's mainly play. The government schools charge small amounts to foreign children age 5, rising to about 12k a term as teens. You might even manage to wangle a place in a Temple school free of charge after age 5. PS Needs full vaccination record in his Thai medical book or they won't take him Edited October 14, 2015 by MaeJoMTB
