Non-immigrant O Visa

Featured Replies

Hi everyone. As most people, I too have a question regarding to the new immigration regs. I have been in Thailand for a few years doing the 30 day border runs. I am a retired serviceman with the required amount of monthly income for a Retirement Visa, however, I am only 43 years old. I own no property in Thailand, don't have a business, not married, etc... I have an apt that I have lived in this whole time. I fly in and out of Thailand to Japan and Singapore appx. every 2 months for appx 2 weeks. I don't want to give up my stay in Thailand nor have to pay for 2 places to live. In regards to Visas.... can anyone give me any advice on how I may obtain a 1 year visa? I have just received my new passport and am currently in Japan until the end of October. Thanks!!!

You could check with a smaller consulate in your home country to see if they could issue you a non immigrant o visa on a yearly basis which allows stays of up to 90 days each. Some may consider you a good risk with the early pension income and allow. Otherwise obtaining a new tourist visa would probably be your best course. This frequent travel suggests work so you might check on possible legal establishment and visas on that basis with a law firm if indeed that is the case.

Lopburi3,

Thanks. I will check while I am currently here in Japan. Not doing business. Divorced and have 2 children that I like to see, that's all. Anyways, I will check and see what Tokyo says.

Thanks
