Former PM shows support to PM Prayut

BANGKOK, 16 October 2015 (NNT)-Former Prime Minister General Chawalit Yongchaiyuth has said he hopes the new constitution will resolve conflict and return power to people.

General Chawalit said he was glad that the National Reform Council (NRC) did not approve of the first version of the draft charter, which was proposed by the previous Constitution Drafting Committee (CDC).

He expressed his confidence that the second version, directed by the current CDC Chairman, Meechai Ruchupan, would certainly eradicate poverty and resolve conflicts. The General also implied that the NRC would certainly give the new draft charter a green light

The 22nd Prime Minister of Thailand also stressed that the draft should include important clauses in order to restore peace and bring tangible results.

The constitution, he claimed, was not the solution to the crisis, saying if it were, Thailand would not have had 19 different versions of the constitution written in the past 83 years.

He also urged the CDC to carefully revise the charter and make sure that it would not lead to another political crisis. General Chawalit also showed support to Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-o-cha, saying the current administration was really determined to lead Thailand out of the political quagmire.

Prayut should make General Chawalit Yongchaiyuth his Finance Minister cheesy.gif

"Former PM shows support to PM Prayut"

Now there's a momentous endorsement from a morally lily white elder statesman!

Just as long as he see's me right with my 30 million insurance claim. The most incompetent PM Thailand has ever had and they have had some real duds

He does not sound overly convincing, just trying to hook up his cart to the junta gravy train

Read that twice and doesn't sound like he is supporting. Neither is he brave enough to be candid with military officers recording his statement while he talks.

I am rather surprised the man is still consuming oxygen.

So he thought the first draft was unfair and happy discarded but thinks we should all support the second draft sight unseen because it will eradicate poverty. I'm not sure if that's as funny as blaming the constant coups on a flawed constitution rather than the class system the elites want to keep in effect.

Possibly the key word is General ,both are retired generals, retired Generals have clout big time , both would suck on lemons if it made them popular.coffee1.gif

Spoken as one general to another kindred spirit. Quote He expressed his confidence that the second version, directed by the current CDC Chairman, Meechai Ruchupan, would certainly eradicate poverty and resolve conflicts. The General also implied that the NRC would certainly give the new draft charter a green light unquote. Yes that quote on eradicating poverty had me dancing in the aisles. Time will take its measure of this statement.

Surely this must have been a tongue-in-cheek comment, or he had his fingers crossed, when he said it ? rolleyes.gif

Wasn,t this the man who bankrupted Thailand, 1997 was it ? and I truly believe the only reason thaksin hired him on his team was to make sure there were no avenues for corruption left undiscovered :(

wait!!! he don't have his 'unusually expensive amulet' so he doesn't have a 'prayer'?

a recent dusit poll of 'prayer rooms' found that all had 'unusually expensive amulets' and were prone to catch fire (limited to those rooms)
