fang37
From the enormous number of responses to this thread, I guess that the opinion is that EDGE is s..t cf to Chrome.
KhunBENQ
Be patient. Not too many enthusiastic users of Windows 10 on TV as you might assume. And those who have might have gone to FF or Chrome straight away, After IE, MS will have a hard time to drag people back to an MS browser.

WhizBang
EDGE, along with Cortana is in constant touch with microsoft about everything you do. So best avoided, unless you actually want MS to know everything about you.

Chicog
Probably be a while before it will have the same breadth of extensions as Chrome has.

Fine but I have no desire for extensions etc. Just hassle free, no unexpected surprises & reasonably quick.
Chicog
Ticks those boxes. Although if there are sites written specifically for IE then they may render improperly. But you have that problem with other browsers. Edge is installed with Windows 10. Why would it delete anything in other browsers? Just use the Import function. http://www.socialpositives.com/2015/08/how-to-import-bookmarks-into-edge-browser/

Pib
To instal EDGE, I assume that it will delete usernames & passwords-OUCH! TVF & Gmail are my problems in this regard. It should already be installed...look for an icon down in your task bar that looks like below....looks:"kinda" similar to the IE icon if it happens to be in your taskbar also. But when Win 10 installed for me it only showed the Edge icon in the taskbar...I had to add the IE and Chrome icons to the task bar from the All Apps menu. If the Edge icon is not in your taskbar it can be found in your apps menu under All Apps, M, Microsoft Edge....from there you can start Edge and/or add it to your taskbar. And if you want to use IE it's kinda been buried under All Apps, W, Windows Accessories, Internet Explorer. Edited October 16, 2015 by Pib
DogNo1
My impression is that MS is working to improve Edge. I get bulletins from time to time about new features being added to it. In the meantime, I use Chrome which I've gotten used to.

If you could take one of your anti-hallucinogenics quickly, I'll try and explain. If Chrome is on your PC, someone installed it. If Edge is not on your PC, either someone removed it (which I doubt) or you just can't see it. I would ask your tech to explain clearly to you what he is doing on your PC. And ask him to put Edge in the taskbar.

Bring it on, MS! it needs work, not fully functional with TVF if you want to do anything other than type text, at least that is my experience
Digitalbanana
My only use for Edge is printing out web sites to look like the web site, it seems to do better job than FF or Chrome on some web sites. Also watching streaming video. Edge seems to ease thro this without kicking the CPU upto high % usage as happens sometimes in FF or Chrome. Otherwise I use FF for anything productive with its built in jump to Edge/Chrome/IE addon.
