Cloggie
At the moment I have an Extension of stay based on "take care family" (Non-Immigrant O visa first) as I have a thai girlfriend and a son of 7 years old. They offered me a new job and according to my new employer I need to leave the country first to get a new Non-Immigrant B visa first but 3 years ago I was in the same position (Extension of stay) and then within one day I got a work permit, didn't have to go to an Embassy first to get a NON-Immigrant-B visa first. As I do not want to argue with my new employer, who is right - have things changed that I am not aware of? Thanks for your comments.
ubonjoe
There has been no changes. You can still get a work permit and work with the extension of stay you have now. I would guess your employer has just been misinformed. Many people thiink you can only work on a non-b visa entry.
