Arrests and drug seizures in Bangkok, Rayong, Bueng Kan

BANGKOK:-- Narcotics Suppression Bureau raids at 32 locations nationwide resulted in 16 arrests - seven of who were youths - and the seizure of some 322,000 'yaba' pills.

Bureau chief Lt-General Rewat Klinkesorn yesterday said most of the seized drugs - some 250,000 pills - came from a raid at an apartment n Bangkok's Lat Phrao district on Friday night.

Two men aged 27 and 22 were arrested in connection with that raid.

Some 72,000 pills were seized on October 14 in Rayong's Nikhom Pattana district, with two men aged 65 and 25 arrested.

In related news, two men aged 22 and 30 were arrested and 494 kilograms of marijuana seized in a police raid in Bueng Kan's So Phisai district early yesterday morning.

1,089.083575 Pounds. To me that is a substantial amount of pot and I would consider this a good bust. Let me rephrase that, a large bust.

This drug seems to be everywhere and yet when I had a toothache and wanted something with codeine in it, I was treated as an addict. Bizarre.

I wonder how slip shod the counting of these pills is. I doubt any cop is going to sit there and count 332,000 pills? I wonder what the actual amount is seized and what is put into the evidence locker.

I am sure that these drug dealers can get you codeine. Just you the same source that they busted. If you are talking about codeine from a hospital, I don't think they will give you yaa baa either.

I'd say dealing in a quarter of a million pills makes the person pretty high up in the chain.

farangs caught high should be deported out of the kingdom with their fingerprints filed. they should be banned from entering the kingdom for life.

this simple solution can eradicate drug using within a year.

but international left-liberal mafia will never allow Thailand or any other country to do this. too much money is involved...

So someone like me who was involved with drugs as young lad growing up should be branded and excluded from society for life?

Do you have a drug of choice alcohol perhaps? In some countries that would see you imprisoned or receiving the lash.

Timmy T, the blight that is the drug war will likely frame this period in history, and in highsight the judicially driven destruction of lives far in excess of the small percentage of uses that have problems will be considered insanity and a sign of how archaic it was in the past. The war on personal freedom aka the drug war will continue, and the only people that benifit from the massive amount of resources spent losing it, are the drug dealers and manufacturers.

Kinda sad for a crime that is categorized as a victimless crime the possession and consumption of drugs that is.

Why not a chip-implant monitoring your blood 24/7? Should be possible and much easier. Your ideas are not logical.

In the old days, it used to be done by weight on a digital scale

Weigh a single pill 0.2g or weighh 100 or 1000 etc and then use that figure to calculate the total weight... but I wouldn't be surprised if they still make someone hand count them in Asia lol

it seems to be the norm nowadays to go on drug raids at least they are showing results but by the same token there seems to be a never ending supply of people to fill in the gaps.
