NLA president admits he did not expect protest against Mr Nut’s appointment

BANGKOK: -- National Legislative Assembly president Pornpetch Vichitchoalachai admitted Monday that he was responsible for proposing Mr Nut Phasuk to replace House secretary-general Chare Panpruang without any anticipation that the proposed reshuffle would provoke an uproar among House officials.

However, he defended the removal of Mr Chare citing the delay in the construction of the new parliament building which was only 18 percent completed. He also said that there were allegations of corruption in the procurement projects in the House of Representatives.

Mr Pornpetch said that Mr Nut himself insisted that he was not an “outsider” as described by House officials who opposed his appointment and threatened to wear black on Monday as a gesture of their protest.

The NLA president said when he learned about the opposition to Mr Nut’s appointment, he consulted Prime Minister Prayut Chan-ocha and advised that the decision be reviewed.

In his capacity as the head of the National Council for Peace and Order, the prime minister on Sunday issued an order revoking an earlier order appointing Mr Nut, legal advisor of the office of the Senate secretary-general to pre-empt a planned protest by House officials on Monday.

While the post of the House secretary-general remains vacant, Mrs Chanpen Arnamwat, the current deputy-secretary, was named the acting secretary-general.

But does Mr Nut have enough balls to do the job?.

But does Mr Nut have enough balls to do the job?.

I don't think so - he lives in On Nut!

Sorry, I know, I know...tongue.png

When Mr. Nut heard that he had to surrender his appointment he said, "Nuts."

This whole things is nuts, and enough to make an elephant turn himself a into a peanut and be thrown to his own herd. When the PM sneezed "cashew" all the Macs in Damia had a real crack. Enough to floor the walnuts and have all men who are holy declare 'almond, Lord!'.

Hate to grind it into butter, but it is what it isn't. Again...
