PATTANI: -- Security officials in Pattani said today they have arrested two suspects responsible for the a series of bomb explosions in Khok Pho district of Pattani two days ago.

One of them was a religious school teacher.

He was identified as Mahama Tahir, 41. He was a religious teacher at a private school in Yarang district.

He was seen in a video footage walking into a miscellaneous shop with a bag and came out.

A few minutes later, the bomb exploded, injuring three people and damaging a car.

Another youth was also arrested. He was not identified.

Both were taken for questioning at the Army camp in Nong Chik district under martial law power.

He was a "teacher" do you mean a Mullah in a private muslim school.

Religious school teacher is self explanatory - the religion involved is obvious.

It appears that Mahama was arrested solely because he was a religious teacher who had been near the crime scene. And since his arrest was under martial law that apparently was not lifted in the South as it was in the rest of Thailand, he will have no rights as a defendent. If he isn't an insurgent, the military will push him to be more active with the insurgency,
