BANGKOK: -- EDUCATION Ministry permanent secretary Kamchorn Tatiyakawee has said allegations of disciplinary violations and corruption made against the Office of the Basic Education Commission's former secretary-general Chinnapat Bhumirat and five other people had been forwarded to the Education Minister.

Chinnapat and the five others faced a corruption probe over the selection process for teachers, educational personnel and teacher aides.

PM's Office former adviser Apichat Cheerawut, who chaired the investigative panel, submitted the reports to Education Minister General Dapong Ratanasuwan.

Kamchorn said the minister ordered Obec to punish the group as suggested by the disciplinary panel.

"The punishments include both firing and dismissal from duty,'' he said.

Dismissal is considered the less severe punishment of the two. Some of the six have already retired.

Retirees facing the firing order would lose their pensions while retirees facing the dismissal order would keep their pension but would lose honour and dignity, Kamchorn said.

Sources said Chinnapat would be dismissed as a result of the disciplinary investigation.

The corruption panel unearthed graft in the selection process, with evidence from the Department of Special Investigation probe showing an exam paper had been leaked.

Two of the six people will be dismissed as a result of the corruption probe, and a high-ranking Education Ministry official will decide the fate of others.

The probable outcome will be the group is moved to inactive positions with full pay and benefits until they decide to retire. Inactive positions are great....continued full pay and benefits...your own little office...no responsibilities or duties...probably no need to even show-up to work since you have nothing to do except collect your pay and benefits. Great work if you can get it.

No probe for the tablet schemes that cost billions too?

Great another inactive post for another sacrificial lamb who was dumb enough to get himself caught with whatever he got exploited in, internally aka stupid enough to fail to brainwash the masses of nasty nasty naughty rebelling generation Y kids....... cheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gifcheesy.gif
