I have been struggling with the application of a marriage visa extension. First one for this visa. I had a marriage visa before and extended 3 times. I left the country and canceled my visa on the way out. I am back again and applying for the marriage visa once again. It seems to be quite a bit more difficult this time.

I applied through the Surin office (Kap Choeng) and I was curious if others have had any difficulties. They are playing the game of giving me information a piece at a time, where the items they require were different from before. This time, they called to meet and verify the address. I have gone to this office numerous times now at a 2 hour one-way trip.

In my previous marriage visas, I was very diligent in maintaining records and tracking any new requirements, but they seem to be toying with me at this point. Anyone else have issues from that office?

Applications for an "extension of stay" (not a visa) based on marriage often involve a home visit. This is nothing new.

If your application has been accepted you will have an "under consideration stamp" in the passport and a "report back" date.

If accepted applications are rarely refused.

I do have those date stamps, after multiple trips to the immigration office.

They never called to check the address before. Just wondering if it's legit.

Absolutely "Legit" !

Have a search on the forum and you will discover many references to "home visits" being made.
