DPM chairs influential figures suppression committee

BANGKOK, 26 October 2015 (NNT) – The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence has been appointed to chair an influential persons suppression committee, with the first meeting date to be set shortly.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Gen Prawit Wongsuwan, has revealed that he has been appointed by the Prime Minister to chair a committee for the suppression of influential figures in many areas of the country.

According to him, the committee will work closely with the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO), the Minister of Interior, and the Royal Thai Police, as well as other related agencies; the first meeting date for the committee is set to take place shortly.

The committee will focus on enforcing weapons regulations for the safety of the general public, while the government is to consider legislating against possession of firearms.

Regarding the situation in the southern border provinces in the wake of the 11th anniversary of Tak Bai incident, the Deputy PM said officials would continue to maintain the safety and peace in the area as usual. The authorities are working to solve the mistakes of the past.

The government is doing its best to push forward peace talks, which require cooperation from all sides in order for it to yield true happiness and peace in the area. Gen Prawit said.

Influential persons suppression committee? Huh?

Influential persons suppression committee? Huh?

There are still a few "Influential Red Shirt Leaders" around. They must be "suppressed" at all cost. Otherwise the Junta will not be able to bring true happiness to the Thai people.

Cheers.

He mentions ''many areas of Thaiand'' what areas/ part is going to be left out of the group who is doing the suppressing Do they have balls enough to start in the north, northeast , puket, pattaya, bangkok, and spread out to the as wind direction from those points without forewarning.

Locating neutral, unbaises, honest members for the committee might be delay its formation and start to work date. First chore is to get BIB, out of the equation completely. They are the first group to disarm and take illegal weapons from.

Another waste of tax payers money. Can't these people just stay home and watch cartoons like other kids?

Oh to be a fly on the wall of that meeting room.

Along with a little translator bug of course.

Prawit is in the news a lot these days and every single item is funny.

Give honest local business people a army escourt numbering 1000+_ supply a rail, hot tar, feathers and let them get rid of the undesirables. Place adequate army personel on perment sharpshooter duty with orders to shoot to kill any who attempt to return..

We have to find those who detest corruption and illegal action to run this country after we wipe the majority of the scum out and put the fear of the almighty in those overlooked, in hiding, etc

"officials would continue to maintain the safety and peace in the area as usual. The authorities are working to solve the mistakes of the past."

Mistakes such as the military maintaining the safety and peace in the area as usual? If the military has been the mistake, it will never be the solution.

Influential persons suppression committee? Huh?

Don't you just love their euphemisms?

Influential Figures Suppression Committee is as suitably vague as not selling alcohol ' near ' to an educational establishment and therefore open to the interpretation that best suits.

"The committee will focus on enforcing weapons regulations for the safety of the general public, while the government is to consider legislating against possession of firearms".

Hey!! America!! are you taking note?
